The Process

 

STEP 1

 

Fill out the booking form

This form will give me all the information I need from you to organise the session that will suit you and your pets best

STEP 2

 

Set a date & pay for your session

Your day & time is not secure until you have paid (excluding event shoots). If the weather is looking iffy we will postpone as many times as needed. If you are unavailable you can reschedule once - further reschedules are up to my discretion (but I'm pretty flexible!)

STEP 3

 

Create some memories with me

This is when all the fun happens! Want to know what to bring, what to wear, and how to prepare? Check out the FAQ below

STEP 4

 

Select your photos

You will recieve a proof gallery of lightly edited photos 1-2 weeks after your session. There may be a few edited examples in there too. You will get instructions on how to order digital photos. If you are keen to get some physical art, we can discuss that either over messages or via a Zoom call and I will send you an invoice.


You will be shown a fully edited version of any physical art you have ordered, before I send the order to the lab for printing

STEP 5

 

Receive your art

Digitals will be with you 2-3 weeks after your order is placed


Physical art may take up to 8 weeks - the lab requires 6 weeks, and I will then check it over and either deliver it to you, or you are welcome to come pick it up

FAQ

My pet is untrained, shy, reactive, blind, or deaf, can you photograph them?

Yes, absolutely. Your pet does not need to be able to sit still, have the perfect stay, or even look at the camera to have beautiful photos - trust me, I have plenty of practice with my Dodie!


Pets can stay on leash & I will edit it out - often I recommend that anyway, as our pets tend to be a little more sensible that way.


I have developed lots of little tricks to get the attention of many a pet, even the blind and deaf! I only need a second of stillness to get the shot.


And if they won't stay still at all - that's fine too! Personally, I LOVE an action shot!

Do you edit out their collar?

That one is up to you! I've come to find some people have a real emotional connection to their pet's collar and would rather they stay in the photo so it's a true capture of how they see their pet. Others would prefer it is removed, and I can do that too - I just ask you let me know ahead of time so I can bring along a leash & collar set that makes removals easy and doesn't interfere with their fur as much as some.


If you can keeping the collar on, I do ask that you remove tags. They have a tendency to move around and not always show the right side, which can be very distracting. If you would like a photo including the tag facing the correct way, we can do those posed first, and then remove it.


I do not edit out harnesses

I want to get in the photos too! What should I wear?

Once we've picked a location I can give you some ideas on specific colours. Generally I recommend dark pants (those dogs love to get their pawprints everywhere!) and a solid coloured top. Dresses, skirts, and shorts all work too, I just recommend you check they are not too short as I will probably ask you to sit on the ground. Definitely stay away from patterns!

How do I receive my purchased photos?

For digitals, you will receive an email from Pixieset with a link to download them. The link expires after 7 days, but I can resend it if needed. Please do download them as soon as you can though :)


For physical art, I will let you know once it has arrived and passed my quality check, then I will either drop it off to your home (most likely at at the next weekend), or you are welcome to come pick it up

How & when do I pay for my photoshoot?

I will send you an invoice ahead of time, with bank account details. Payment is due before the shoot to reserve your date.

What can I do with my digital files?

According to the terms of use for your photos, that you agree with when you book a shoot, copyright still belongs with me. Therefore you cannot alter the images further yourself, aside from reasonable cropping to make it fit your social media posts. Images from photoshoots are purchased under a personal use license. If you wish to purchase them under a business license, please get in touch.
